It’s the first day of my vacation. My sister’s flight here was delayed and we didn’t get back to my house until 1:30 am.

My neighbor started cutting the grass at 6 am this morning.

Use your neighbor’s lawn mower to cut the grass on his head. Bonus if he’s bald.

I never mow our lawn any earlier than 8:30-9am on any given day...some people sleep in but most are up by then.

My flight home from LA to NJ last night was delayed by an hour. So I didnt end up getting to my apartment until nearly midnight. Then I had to make dinner since I hadn’t eaten much the whole day. This made it quite difficult waking up at 630am to go to work late. Total zombification for today!

Does this give you leave to rev the Abarth in front of his house at 0500?

Were you on American? Every one of their flights on the board was delayed it seemed.

Idk how people are willing to do exercise early in the morning. I can barely coordinate my appendages to open doors and brush my teeth in the morning much less lift heavy things or go running.

I think we need to think louder.

It was 5:30 once earlier this year. I forgave that because they were having a party later that morning.

I mean...I have a reel mower he can borrow if it needs done that desperately.

Virgin America. It was just a late flight to begin with. But my options are either 830am or 1230pm. So I would much rather choose the later flight than have to wake up at 4. I think they made up most of the time in the air since we arrived just after 915 (original arrival time was 9). Just exiting the plane, retrieving baggage, getting picked up, driving home to my parents house, getting my car, driving home, getting food, cooking. It all just took a lot of time!

That must violate some nuisance ordinance, not that you’d want to report him.

I get that some people love getting things done early in the morning, but have some consideration! What would he do if you were blasting music outside at 2am? This is not any different.

More importantly though - enjoy the vacation!

Yea, the ordinance is 7 where I live, but I feel bad getting started doing anything loud before 8

Yeah, 8 is a hard rule for me, but I try not to do it before 9 if I can help it. Although, there are a lot of people around here with lawn services and some of them are out there at 7:30—

My neighbors have a baby, so on weekends I wait until I see them out for their morning walk before I break out the mower which is usually around 8 anyway. Anything else like the weed whacker or saws, I will wait until almost 10.

That’s plenty considerate - although, tbh, as a father to a 9 month old, it is IMPOSSIBLE to work around a baby’s sleep schedule. They sleep a lot and you can’t really know when they’ll be up or asleep. You’re probably more likely to wake them up at 11 am than 8 am.

When I chose my muffler one of the considerations was that they had a baby in a bedroom right next to my normal parking space.

If they start pulling this shit I’m getting a Super 10 like I wanted in the first place :)

Eh that’s later me’s problem! Past me sucks..

Nah, but really I just dont like working out unless its for a sport of some sort. I find that playing ultimate frisbee and soccer in the summer time and skiing in the winter is plenty enough physical activity for me. No need any further cardio but strength training could be useful. However, I really hate having to eat 4000+ calories and dieting properly to include high protein and vegies. I cant gain muscle any other way!

“Eh that’s later me’s problem! Past me sucks..”

I believe I wrote something here a few years ago under a similar line. Although I think I said “fuck future me, I bet that asshole has a jetpack/gods dammit past me! You’ve fucked over present me!”

I’m with you there, although I’m not signed up for enough sports, so to the gym I go. I also have to eat a fuckton in order to gain any weight (4000 calories a day got me five pounds in three months).

I think I recall Futurama doing a good bit on that one with Fry. That is definitely what I am referencing although phrasing poorly!

It’s not even just the fuckton of food. I can gladly eat more calories if its just inhaling pizzas and pastas and bread. But that shit doesnt help gain any muscle. I just cant afford eating 10 pounds of chicken breast and 40 pounds of spinach per week. So I generally just give up on that work on cardio stuff instead.

Ah, nothing set in stone beyond an initial chat with the bank. Financially it’s actually a really stupid idea not to, but I’m just poring over zoning codes here and trying to figure out what’s next. I want finished space above but can’t decide whether it’ll be a studio apartment or just a big empty room. Need to find some contractors and chat.

Denver needs to see a structural engineer’s drawing too, at least for the basement. It’s a lot to keep track of.
